Its that time of the year again when the top prioritiy is taken by new resolutions and seeking blessings to be able to carry them through. New Year is a special time and it has always been celebrated in the most special way in SASTRA.
The chief attraction for someone like me, who has only a 'I'm fine, how are you?' sort of a relationship with GOD and temples, was the beauty which was spread across the campus. Be it the wonderful decor of the temple, the beautiful rangoli, smart and 'beautiful' men (some in 'tide white' dhotis) or the ever so awe inspiring 'saree clad ladies'!!! I can easily be biased to announce that of all these the saree females were simply the best (since they were the irresistable lot)!
I forgot my camera when I went to the temple in the morning (actually I was blinded by the display of absolute beauty all around and my reason was thrown out of place!).
I revisited the 'activity area' sometime later and was lucky to find a group of ladies who obliged me with the rare pic for my blog.
The day was made even more special by a Tamil poem book release funtion. The book called "NAANYARIYATHA NAAN" has been penned down by an ex-student of SASTRA, Mr. Senthamarai Kannan.
Best wishes to all the readers of my blog and a little less than best wishes for those who ignore it!!!

"FOOD-FESTIVAL"
Like all occations associated with 'food' and 'festival', the 'FOOD FESTIVAL' at SASTRA organized by the mess was a total chaos. Heards of people were seen fighting for what used to be an otherwise peaceful meal on other nights. The typical characteristics were longer queues and prolonged waiting time. Incidently, there was an increase in the wastage of food as compared to other days which is bound to happen when expectations of the students (hyped by publicity which is incoherrant with the quality) are not met.
I wonder if it would be better to prepare some special food on a day and after getting a good feedback from the students to announce that it was part of a 'surprise food-festival' !!! But, this is definetly not the way to publicise a product which is basically not worth its price.
Some strange equations govern the mess in-charge(s) at this place. With the quality of food going down there is inevitably an increase in the mess bill !!! Perhaps, its time to change again. I wonder if this is ever going to change for the better.
