Like all occations associated with 'food' and 'festival', the 'FOOD FESTIVAL' at SASTRA organized by the mess was a total chaos. Heards of people were seen fighting for what used to be an otherwise peaceful meal on other nights. The typical characteristics were longer queues and prolonged waiting time. Incidently, there was an increase in the wastage of food as compared to other days which is bound to happen when expectations of the students (hyped by publicity which is incoherrant with the quality) are not met.
I wonder if it would be better to prepare some special food on a day and after getting a good feedback from the students to announce that it was part of a 'surprise food-festival' !!! But, this is definetly not the way to publicise a product which is basically not worth its price.
Some strange equations govern the mess in-charge(s) at this place. With the quality of food going down there is inevitably an increase in the mess bill !!! Perhaps, its time to change again. I wonder if this is ever going to change for the better.

its not the first time dat food festival has been kept at sastra on 11th april. the one hosted by R.K.H.S. la yr got a very gud feedback and was no doubt well managed.. shivas caterers are not as proffesional as r.k.h.s. so it did turn into a chaos..but then change from the regular stuff is wat everyone wants.. and ya never know how good or bad its gonna b next time. the menu was displayed on notice board since long and guess dat must hv attraced hostelers to rush for dinner..:)
Many ppl prefer to eat outside on this special day.Bcoz they believe 'Precaution is better than Cure'
